E-learning is the use of electronic media and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education. It includes usage media that deliver text, audio, images, animation, and streaming video. Tools such as tablets, satellite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based learning, as well as local intranet/extranet and web-based learning are employed. Smart classes refer to classrooms equipped with E-learning tools.

According to a report by Docebo, Asia is the fastest growing e-learning market driven by India and China. The content market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 18.4 per cent from FY 2014 to FY 2018.
